A message for Yapton C. of E. Primary School pupils 24/03/20

Dear children,

We know that this is a very different way of being a member of our school family. Some of you are here in school with us, taking part in activities whilst most of you are at home. We hope that you have found the activities on our school website and are enjoying being able to do them. At school we have a few staff here each day while we try to keep our school open for as long as possible for those who need it at the moment. We are thinking about all of you. Just because you at home, you are still very much part of our school community. We would love to keep in touch with you and to hear from you about what you are doing at home. Please send us your news. You may wish to include a photo of what you have done at home. Please make sure that it is a photo of your work or activity only.
You can send it to us by using our office@yaptonschool.org email address.
We look forward to hearing from you.

Mrs Huggett and all of the staff at Yapton CE Primary School.

Letter to Parents 24/03/20

Dear Parents/Carers,
I am writing to inform you that we have responded to parental requests for additional materials for home learning. These are now on our website under two tabs ‘Non-screen home learning’ and ‘Online home learning’. I would like to clarify that those children in school are not following the national curriculum. We are providing a safe and happy place for them to be whilst their carers are working on the front line or have individual reasons to be in school. I hope that this explains more clearly for you the current arrangements. We did not send home ‘packs’ because we wanted to make sure that you had a wide choice of activities that would engage all of our children. This was also one of our many measures to reduce infection. We did not inform you of all of these reasons at the time because we did not want to alarm you. However, it is clear that a few parents require further information. I hope this helps.
Take Care.

Letter to Parents – 23/03/20

Dear Parents/Carers,

Thank you for your understanding and support in the uncertain times that we are facing. I thought that you would welcome an update. The work and activities on the website are for the following two weeks. It will then be the Easter holidays. We are trying to remain open for as long as we can for the children of front-line workers and identified pupils. This is in line with Government expectations. The delivery of a formal curriculum has been suspended for the time being. If school continues to operate in line with current arrangements, then more specific work will be set by the teachers using our Knowledge Organiser proformas and will be posted on our website. We are awaiting the vouchers for families who are on FSM and the interim measure of food hampers. These are possibly going to be delivered next week. We are working with Chartwells our food supplier here at school. We will keep you updated when we have new information to share.

Kind Regards

Kim Huggett
