WEEKLY NEWS FOR FAMILIES 23.4.21

Dear Parents and Carers ,

we have had such a great first week back for the start of the Summer Term.

There has been a ‘buzz’ of chatter, play (and of course some work!) in all of the classrooms.

A FEW REMINDERS

Please make sure that

  • school shoes are plain black
  • hair that is longer than shoulder length is tied up for school
  • PE kit is a plain white T-shirt and a plain track-suit
  • earrings are NOT worn on PE days

SCHOOL UNIFORM

We have been in contact with RICARA our uniform supplier and are working with them to make it easier for families to buy school uniform. We are planning to hold a stock of samples here in school for your child/ren to try on (hold up against them). You will be able to place an order and pay by phone to RICARA or by visiting their shop. You can now arrange a home delivery with RICARA. I have attached the uniform list. If any families would like to buy pieces of uniform for this term, we will have our stock of samples available for you to try in the school hall on Tuesday 27th April 21 and Wednesday 28th April 21 at ‘drop off’ and ‘pick up’ times. Please use the hall door from the playground.

We will run this again in July in preparation for September. We have also arranged to have the uniform samples available for the brand new EYFS children at their Royal Garden Party on Saturday 3rd July 2021. We hope that this is helpful for you.

THE BIG ASK

Over the next two weeks , we will be taking part in ‘THE BIG ASK’ questionnaire. This is a national survey for children to take part in. It has been initiated  by the ‘Children’s Commissioner for England, Dame Rachel de Souza. It will be an opportunity for our children to feel empowered to have a ‘voice’ within a national forum. The responses will be collated and used to shape future initiatives.

ENGLAND DOES THE DAILY MILE

On FRIDAY 30TH APRIL 2021 we will be joining many other schools in the country to run the Daily Mile. ALL children will need to come to school in their PE kit that day. Each class will record the amount of miles that they have run collectively. We will then calculate the final total for the whole school!

Thank you for a great first week back! Enjoy the sunshine this weekend and we look forward to seeing everyone on Monday.

Take Care
