Key Stage 2 Choir at Edgcumbes Christmas Fair – Saturday 3rd December

Dear Parents and Carers,

Here are the final details for the singing at the Christmas event at Edgcumbes on Saturday morning.

Due to unforeseen circumstances, I am unfortunately not going to be there. The children will need to meet Mrs Huggett and Mrs Bayliss at 10:45am by the Cube (the large windowed room near the cafe). They do not need to wear school uniform, but will need to wrap up warm as it is going to be quite chilly on Saturday morning! Christmas hats or other accessories can be worn. The children will be singing for about 20 minutes.

Please can you make sure you stay and watch. If your child needs any medication (for example an inhaler), please make sure this is brought along as well.

Thank you for your continued support.

Kind regards

Chris Hughes

Deputy Headteacher

WEEKLY NEWS FOR FAMILIES – 25.11.22

Dear Parents and Carers,

What a wet and soggy week this has been! However, the weather has not dampened our spirits!

St. David’s House enjoyed their ‘DISCO’ on Wednesday. They had achieved the most ‘merit’ points for the half term. The disco seems to be a popular choice from the ‘Merit Menu’. Well done to all of the children in St. David’s House. WEDNESDAY 30TH NOVEMBERAs this is the feast day of St. Andrew, we have asked all of the children in St Andrew’s House to wear something blue. They will be in non-uniform on this day. The two House Captains have prepared a Worship for the whole school about the life of St. Andrew. Thank you to Toni and Harmony for their hard work in preparing this. The dates for all of the saints days have been sent out on a previous ParentMail. We will remind each house nearer the time. A COUPLE OF THANK YOUSWe have received a card from The Royal British Legion thanking us for the donations to the Poppy Appeal. We raised an amazing total of £377.72. Thank you to everyone who donated and/or bought any of the poppy merchandise. Thank you to all of the families who took part in our ‘Book Share’ event on Tuesday. It is great to see so many families donating and choosing books to share at home.QR CODE SYSTEMFrom Monday we will be introducing a new system for both visitor sign in and pupil sign out with the use of QR Codes. You will notice in the window by the office there are now 3 QR Codes, two of which are for visitor sign in/out and one which will be used if you are collecting your child early from school for an appointment or they are being sent home because of illness. If you simply open your phones camera and hover it over the relevant QR Code it will then pop up with a short form for you to complete. We hope that not only will this make signing in and out easier for you, but it will also increase the privacy of your data collection. STEM (Science Technology Engineering and Maths)Mrs Groves, our Science Curriculum Leader, is keen to develop the profile of STEM within the school. She will be running a STEM Club at lunchtime in the Spring Term and is eager to create community links within the subject as well. Please see the attached flyer.CHRISTMAS HOLIDAY CAMPSAlso attached to this letter are details about some Christmas Holiday Camps.

Have a lovely weekend.

Take care
