To all the amazing pupils at Yapton Primary School.
I just wanted to write a a little letter to say how proud I am of you all for being so brave and resilient during this unsettling time we are all having. It is really not very nice for any of us not being allowed out to see our friends. None of you are able to go to the park or go to each others houses or even kick a football around together. It is pretty rubbish really ! Some of you are also still going to school as you have parents working on the frontline when lots of your friends get to stay at home.
Despite all this I have been following what you have been doing on Twitter and it is brilliant to see you being so creative. You are all bringing a smile to lots of people’s faces including mine.
Sometimes in life things happen that we don’t want to happen. Life isnt always easy and when it does get hard we just have to dig down deep and try our best to get on with things the best we can. Being miserable won’t make the virus go away but being happy and positive and doing the things we have been asked, will keep us all safe and keep all our key workers and NHS safe too. The safer we are the quicker things will get back to normal. I can’t wait to come and see you all again and hopefully plant some trees . I have been walking in my calipers in my garden when it has been sunny.
Keep happy and keep positive all of you. After every storm which is what the Corona Virus is there is always a rainbow. The rainbow is a sign to show us that the storm is over and we will all be allowed out again.
Take care all of you and see you soon.
Warmest Wishes
Councillor Amanda Worne
