Dear Parents ,
As you will have seen and heard on the news and via social media, over the last 48 hours various unions have called their members to take action in relation to their members safety within the full opening of Primary Schools (particularly those in Tier 4).
I apologise for the lateness of this Parent Mail and the inconvenience that it may cause, but I need to inform you that our school will be shut for an Emergency Closure Day tomorrow on Monday 4th January 2021. At this point in time I do not have the correct amount of staff to open safely to the whole school.
I have consulted with Mrs Penny Davey our Chair of Governors and I have informed the Local Authority.
I will update you further tomorrow when I have received more information and guidance from the appropriate organisations.
The unions are currently requesting partial opening of Primary Schools for the first two weeks of this term. Partial opening would mean certain identified groups of vulnerable and key worker children in school and remote learning for the remainder of the children. As you know, we already have the Google Classroom platform set up for this. You have received the packs for home learning in addition to the class email addresses.
Tomorrow will now replace the planned INSET on 19.4.21.
These are really difficult times for a number of reasons and I would like to thank you for your support and understanding.
Take Care
Kim Huggett
