Friday News for Families 11.12.20

Dear Parents and Carers ,
thank you for the amazing donations for our festive hampers, they look fabulous. We will be selling raffle tickets for these from Monday 14th December until the morning of Friday 18th December 2020. They will be on sale before and after school, either outside the school office or on our KS1 playground. We are not able to give change this year, so would ask that the correct money is brought to school. The tickets will be £1 each or £5 per strip. The money that we raise will go towards equipment for learning outside of the classroom. The money will be divided equally between the 10 classes and each class will decide how to spend their allocated money.

CHRISTMAS MESSY CHURCH
Please find below the link from the Christmas Messy Church from Rev Richard. He sends a warm invitation to all of our families to join in the fun.

STAFFING
Thank you once again for your patience and understanding particularly this week with regard to the amount of supply teachers that have been in school. We are trying to juggle keeping classes open whilst supporting staff to shield/isolate or look after family members. The class teacher leaves the planning for the supply teacher, so that the usual learning takes place.
Pevensey Class children will have the opportunity to meet Mrs Duymun on Thursday afternoon next week when she comes into school to spend time in the classroom before beginning the maternity cover for Mrs Bowles.

CHRISTMAS 2020
Please see attached a reminder of the festive plans that we have in place for next week…albeit very different from usual, but we plan to have fun and enjoy the last week of term. Our last day of term is Friday 18th December 2020, we will finish at our usual time.
Looking ahead to the Christmas holidays, Headteachers will be working as part of the ‘track and trace’ process for the first 6 days of the holidays. This will be up to and including Christmas Eve. I would ask that you use the office2@yaptonschool.org email for this purpose. I will send further details about this next week.

REINDEER RUN
The daily mile track saw 270 reindeers dashing around it today !! A few lost noses and wobbly antlers along the way…but lots of fun and raising money for such an important place in our community. Thank you to those families who have returned their envelopes already. Please can the remaining envelopes be returned next week.

Have a lovely weekend.
