Our School

As Headteacher I am delighted to be part of a school that has been rated ‘Good’ in all areas by Ofsted (December 2016). The inspectors noted that;

Pupils enjoy attending school. they feel safe, behave well, enjoy learning and are proud of their school.’

There is a genuine, warm, community feel to the school and we take pride in knowing each child as an individual. We celebrate successes and encourage challenge daily to ensure that all pupils make good progress across the curriculum.

Yapton CE Primary School is an “Open door to learning” – learning is at the heart of everything we do. We have high expectations of the children, in terms of attendance, behaviour and academic progress, which helps create a calm and purposeful learning environment. We believe in making mistakes in order to make progress and the pupils recognise that learning can only take place when we can recognise and correct mistakes.

We work closely with our parents, to ensure that communication is effective and two-way. We ask all parents to sign up to our Home-School agreement that outlines expectations and roles. We encourage parents to get involved in the life of the school, whether helping out in class, helping with after-school clubs or on trips. There is always a welcome from FOYS (Friends of Yapton School) to come and join in with exciting fundraising events.

Our aim is to make your child’s primary school journey one of creativity, challenge and fun, to help them achieve their full potential.

The school is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of all children in our care and expects all staff and visitors to share this commitment.

We look forward to meeting you soon!
