Dear Parents and Carers,
The children in Portchester Class have made some fantastic progress in their learning so far this year. Mrs Groves has really understood the children and has been creative in her approach to delivering the curriculum in the best way for them.
As we look towards the Summer Term, we are planning to enhance the provision the children in Portchester Class are receiving.
On Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays, Mrs Groves will continue to teach the Year 2 children in Portchester Class. Mrs Isaac, a very experienced teacher who has been working at our school this term, will teach the Year 3 children. This means the children will be learning in much smaller groups which will allow the teachers to fine-tune the learning according to their needs and the next stages of their learning. On Thursdays and Fridays, the two groups will rejoin and continue to be taught together by Mrs Groves.
Throughout the week, the children will start and end each day together, as well as enjoying being together at playtimes and lunchtimes.
This arrangement forms part of our ‘Catch-Up’ plan to address the disrupted learning over the last two years.
If you have queries or concerns regarding next term, please see either Mrs Groves, Mr Hughes or myself. If it is easier, please use the office2@yaptonschool.org email address.
Kind regards
Kim Huggett
