The Year 3/4 Trip – Wednesday 12th July

Dear Parents and Carers,

Here are the details regarding the rearranged Year 3 and 4 Geography Trip on Wednesday 12th July.

There will be a carousel of three planned learning tasks which each class will complete:

  1. A ‘field trip’ along part of the canal tow path in the village

  2. A series of ‘water challenges’

  3. Time in the school forest

The ‘field trip’ is classed as a local visit. The other two tasks will take place in school.

The timings of the walk along the canal will be:

  • Pevensey Class: 9:00am – 10:15am

  • Portchester Class: 10:30am – 11:45am

  • Southsea Class: 1:30pm – 2:45pm

We are looking for some volunteers to join each class on the walk. If you are able to spare some time to join the children, please let us know using the email address.

The children will not need to wear school uniform. They will need to wear a t-shirt with a pair of joggers or leggings and a pair of sensible trainers. Hopefully the weather will be nice so that sunhats will also be needed. Sun cream will need to be applied before the beginning of the school day. A lightweight water proof coat may be needed.

The children will all be in school over the lunch break so they will be able to eat their lunches as normal.

The day will provide an enjoyable way to bring some of this term’s learning together.

    Kind regards

    Kim Huggett
