Weekly message for families 17.07.2020

Dear Parents and Carers,
We have reached the end of the school year – not the year that any of us were planning for!  I would like to thank everyone for their patience, understanding, and support as we have navigated our way though lockdown and beyond.  We are looking forward to coming back together as a whole school family – although it will not quite be ‘normal school’ yet.
Although this is the last letter of the school year, there is a lot of information to share with you.
SUMMER 2020 CHALLENGE
We have created a family-based Summer Challenge for those families that would like to continue to have some structure to their activities through the holiday. This has been attached to this letter and we hope you have lots of fun with this.
P.E. KITS
As part our welcome curriculum provision for the first two weeks of the term, the children are going to be engaged in lots of learning outside the classroom, including a daily P.E. lesson.  Please see the P.E. kit information attached.
HEALTHY SNACKS  AND FRUIT SCHEME
Following the government guidance, we have had to put in place seven separate sittings for lunchtimes.  For some classes this may mean a longer morning or afternoon.  The EYFS and KS1 government fruit scheme will return in September.  However, we are encouraging all children to bring in an extra piece of fruit or healthy snack.  Please note we will become a NUT-FREE SCHOOL in September.  Please be aware of what food is packed into your children’s lunchboxes.
SUMMER LIBRARY READING CHALLENGE
Have your children signed up to the West Sussex Libraries Summer Reading Challenge called ‘The Siily Squad’? The link to do this is https://summerreadingchallenge.org.uk/
