WEEKLY NEWS FOR FAMILIES – 04.11.2022

Dear Parents and Carers,

Mother Nature may have thrown different weathers at us this week, but this did not stop everyone having a brilliant time on Thursday’s Outdoor Classroom Day. In between the downpours and then when the sun came out, the children made good use of our outside spaces. The fire was lit in our Forest School Area in the morning and it kept on roaring until everyone had enjoyed a cup of hot chocolate! Attached is a capture of some of the pupils’ voices about the day.

CHRISTMAS CARDS

Thank you to all of you who bought some Christmas cards and other gifts. A fantastic £298.90 has been raised. This money will be used to develop our school library. A big thank you to Mrs Robinson and Mrs Sothcott for organising this fundraising opportunity.

WORLD KINDNESS DAY

World Kindness Day falls on Sunday 13th November which is an ideal prelude to Anti-Bullying Week starting on Monday 14th November. To recognise this, we would like the children to wear something yellow on Friday 11th November. The children do not need to wear school uniform on this day. I wonder how much yellow there will be…?

BRITISH LEGION POPPY APPEAL

Please find attached details of the Poppy Appeal. We will come together as a school on Friday 11th November to mark this important date.

NOVEMBER PRAYER

Our school prayer for November is also attached to this letter. It focuses on the theme of remembrance.

CHILDREN IN NEED EVENT

Summer and her Mum, Natalie, have organised a Cake Sale in aid of the BBC Children in Need Appeal. More details of this are attached.

ST MARY’S CHURCH AND ST. ANDREW’S CHURCH CHRISTMAS FAIR

On Saturday 26th November, there will be a Christmas Fair at the Village Hall. More details of this are also attached.

Have a fabulous weekend.

Take care
