Dear Parents and Carers,
We have had an amazing first week back!
A very warm welcome to all of our new families.
The children have settled quickly and have enjoyed their first week back.
There has been a busy ‘buzz’ around the school!
Thank you to all of our families for making sure that the children have come to school in the correct uniform. They are all looking really smart.
P.E TIMETABLE
I am re-sending the PE timetable as the PE lessons begin next week.
PARENT & TEACHER MEETINGS
We will be holding our ‘Welcome’ Parent and Teacher Meetings during the week of the 20th September 2021. You will be able to book online appointments for these meetings. We will share the timetable with you on Monday 13th September and the booking system will be open from 9am on Tuesday morning (14th September). This will be a chance for you to meet your child’s class teacher, reflect on the beginning of the term and look forward to the rest of the school year.
Our ‘School Reports’ will be written mid-year to enable any targets or next steps to be achieved by the end of the academic year. These will be shared with families around the middle of the Spring term.
Our other Parent and Teacher Meeting will be held in July at the end of the school year. This will be a celebration of the year and an opportunity to share information for transition to the next year group.
For our children who receive additional support through PLJs ( Personal Learning Journeys), these will continue to be reviewed and shared with families in October, February and May.
BEFORE AND AFTER SCHOOL CLUBS
We have had a tremendous response to our extra-curricular clubs. Please be aware that for the KS2 FOOTBALL and the OUTDOOR EXPLORERS we have had to run the groups in two sessions. For the FOOTBALL, LOWER KS2 will be this half term and UPPER KS2 will be after half term. For the OUTDOOR EXPLORERS, please read the information on your golden scroll – this will tell you which date your child is starting the club.
ARRIVING AT SCHOOL IN THE MORNING AND THE AFTERNOON
As we have re-adjusted back to our pre-Covid arrangements and our pupil numbers have increased, whilst fantastic, it does mean that there are more people trying to walk in and out of school. The school doors open at 8.45am and the Register is taken at 8.55am to enable a steady flow of children coming into their classrooms. From Monday, we will trial opening the school gate 5 minutes earlier to help with the busyness. The gate will open at 8.35am in the morning and 3.05pm in the afternoon. Children are NOT to be left unattended and must stand quietly and safely with their home grown up/carer. We do not have staff supervision on the playground at these times.
POTATO PARADE
The children are very excited about our Potato Parade on Monday! Interestingly we needed 45kg of potatoes for every child to have a potato! We are looking forward to our whole school celebration.
Have a fabulous weekend.
Take care
Kim Huggett
