Dear Parents and Carers,
The children were very excited to be bringing home their School Report today. They were engaged in sharing their thoughts on their learning and were looking forward to hearing their teacher’s response to them. I have read all of the Reports and written to each child. You must be so proud of your children and their attitude to learning, their kindness and consideration for others to name just a few of their amazing attributes. We are certainly proud of each and every one and feel very lucky to be working here at our school.
As you know, this is a different style of Report and with anything new we would really value your feedback. Please drop us a line to office2@yaptonschool.org if you have 5 minutes to share your feedback. We would really appreciate it. Thank you.
At the end of the summer term we will organise another Parent’s Evening to look at transition to the next year group. We will share attainment and progress information with you in the latter part of the summer term.

ILLNESS IN SCHOOL
We have a nasty tummy bug making its way around the school at the moment. We continue to clean thoroughly and was hands regularly whilst keeping the classrooms ventilated. Please make sure that children do not return to school until 48 hours after their last episode. Thank you .
A DAY FOR UKRAINE ON WEDNESDAY 16TH MARCH 2022
Schools have been asked by the Disaster Emergency Committee to set aside next Wednesday as a ‘Day for Ukraine’. We are being asked to wear something yellow and blue. There is no need to buy anything, please just use what you have at home, even if it is only one of the colours. We are being asked to donate £1 each to this appeal. We would like to create a Ukranian flag and use the gold £1 coins to make up the yellow section. This will be a positive way for the children to feel that they are involved in helping.
I have attached a summary of the approach we have taken in school this week regarding the conflict. I hope that you find it helpful.
The DFE have also sent a link for parents:
If you have any worries or concerns, or if we can help further then please let myself or Mr Hughes know. You can email us on office2@yaptonschool.org or see us in school or at the school gate.
Have a lovely weekend.
We look forward to seeing you on Monday.
Take care
Kim Huggett
