Dear Parents and Carers,
At the beginning of this week, our whole school worship introduced the theme of ‘Kindness is my Super Power.’ It was lovely to see so many shades of yellow being worn today as we marked World Kindness Day. The importance of kindness will explored further during Anti-Bullying Week after the weekend.
REMEMBRANCE DAY
We also marked Remembrance Day by coming together as a whole school family this morning. We joined over 300,000 children across the country to watch and take part in an online Remembrance Service organised by the National Literacy Trust. The service include reflections on remembrance from former and current serving members of the armed forces. We also joined in the singing of a special remembrance song and observed the national two minutes silence at 11 o’clock.
During this week, every child has contributed to their class poppy wreath. These were displayed at the front of the hall. Please see the attachment which shows the beautiful and moving tribute.
Thank you for your donations for the Poppy Appeal this week. We will let you know how much was raised once it has been collected and counted by the Royal British Legion.
BOOK SWAP
This half term’s Book Swap will take place in the hall after school on Tuesday 22nd November. This is a brilliant chance for the children to both share and find something exciting to read.
BOGNOR REGIS FOODBANK
We have recently received a lovely email from the Foodbank in Bognor Regis thanking the school for an amazing 108kg of donations. Attached is a certificate of thanks as well as information regarding Christmas. We are all aware of the fantastic service the Foodbanks across the country provide. The school is able to offer Foodbank vouchers. If you find yourself in need of help from the Foodbank, please come and talk to me. Any conversations will be held in the strictest of confidence, of course.
THE NATIONAL SLEEP HELPLINE
As well as eating healthily and being active, sleep is an important factor in keeping us well. Attached is some information from the National Sleep Helpline.
CHRISTMAS HAMPERS RAFFLE
We are raising money to develop our school library. Please see the attached flyer about the Christmas Hampers Raffle.
CHRISTMAS DATES
Before December is upon us, I thought it would be helpful to send out a list of the dates of the exciting Christmas events that will be happening here at school. Please find the attached list.
Have a lovely weekend.
Take care
Kim Huggett
