Dear Parents and Carers,
the children really have been amazing this week here in school. The hot weather has not held back their enthusiasm for their learning. The Y6 children put on a spectacular performance of ‘School Daze’ yesterday. Well done to all of our Y6 children for their superb contributions to an amazing production.
WEATHER WARNING
There is a severe weather warning for ‘extreme heat’ on Monday and Tuesday. We have clear guidance from the DFE as to how to manage this in school. At this point in time school will remain open on Monday and Tuesday.
ALL CHILDREN WILL NEED A SUN HAT AND A WATER BOTTLE – SUN CREAM MUST BE APPLIED BEFORE SCHOOL.
ALL STAFF WILL ENSURE THAT THE CHILDREN KEEP HYDRATED DURING THE DAY AND WILL UNDERSTAND THE NEED FOR POSSIBLE EXTRA TOILET VISITS.
OUTDOOR P.E. WILL NOT HAPPEN ON THESE TWO DAYS IF THE WEATHER IS EXTREMELY HOT.
It may be that we will keep the children inside on these two days if we feel that this is necessary.
I have been informed that Mrs Wellburn, our School Crossing Patrol Officer, has been instructed to stand down for both those days. Please take extra care crossing North End Road on Monday and Tuesday. If your child walks by themselves please ensure that you either accompany them or inform them that there will be no supervision whilst crossing the road on these days.
KIT LISTS
Please find attached the Kit Lists for both the Y3/Y4 sleepover trip to the Novium Museum and the Y5/Y6 residential trip to the Adur Outdoor Activities Centre.
The dates for the Novium Museum are contained within the Kit List.
Please make sure all payments have been made.
The medical forms will be sent out next week.
HOME & SCHOOL PARTNERSHIP
Following on from our meetings last week, we wanted to make sure that every family had been given the chance to contribute to this.
The focus is ‘Home & School – working together in the best way to support the children’s learning’.
Please email office2@yaptonschool.org with your thoughts. We will then add your responses to the information from both the children in our Community Circles and families at the meetings last week. Following this, we will create our ‘Home-School Partnership’ and share it with you.
SCHOOL DISCOS ON THURSDAY 21ST JULY
We are really looking forward to our discos. All children will need to bring their water bottles with them to ensure that they keep hydrated.
Have a fabulous sunny weekend.
Take care
Kim Huggett
