Dear Parents and Carers,
as we end this week at school, I am delighted to share with you a sporting headline of our very own! Amberley class were due to take part in Dance-Time but as this was cancelled they entered the Summer Sussex School Games Dance Festival. We were notified this week that they were the winners of their category. We are so proud of them. A big thank you to Mrs Cummings and Mrs Wilson.
PARKING AND ANTI SOCIAL BEHAVIOUR
Following the reports about the parking and the behaviour of some parents, I have tried to rectify this problem. However due to the negative responses that I have received, I have been in touch with Sussex Police in order to resolve this matter. PC Sibun will be working with the school and will be attending at some drop off or collection times over the coming weeks. Keeping our children and families safe is paramount and unfortunately it is a few parents that are being inconsiderate.
NEW EYFS ROYAL GARDEN PARTY
We are looking forward to meeting our new Early Years children and their families tomorrow. Even the Queen is ready and waiting to meet you all. We will have our Pop Up Uniform Shop open for you so that you can order uniform for your child.
PRAYER FOR JULY
I have attached our prayer for July so that you can use this together at home if you wish to.
UNIFORM POP-UP SHOP ON WEDNESDAY 7TH JULY
We will have a uniform shop in our school hall at drop-off and collection time. You can come and select the correct size for your child and then place a phone order at your convenience with RICARA who will then deliver the uniform to your home.
YAPTON PLAY AREA IMPROVEMENTS SURVEY
I have been contacted by Councillor Amanda Worne to ask if we can take part in a survey to select equipment that they would like to have in the park. Yapton Parish Council is planning to develop the play area. This is an exciting opportunity for our children to be involved in. We will take part in the survey next week during our Morning Meetings.
YEAR 6 LEAVERS ARRANGEMENTS
We have finalised our arrangements for our Year 6 children who will be leaving us. I have attached the Year 6 Diary Dates below, just in case the paper copies given out today did not make it home! As this has been such an unsettled year for them, we would like to treat the Year 6 children. We will not be asking for payments for the Fish n Chip Supper or for the Disco. A permission form will be sent home on Monday. Over the weekend the children have been asked to think about the playlist that they would like. Please can they bring their choices to me on Monday morning so that I can let the DJ know. We have invited the Year 5 children to the disco as they were all classmates together at the start of the year.
YEAR 5
We have invited the Year 5 children to the ‘End of Year Disco’ so that they can celebrate with their friends in Year 6. I have attached their invite to this ParentMail. A permission form will be sent home on Monday.
PREMIER SUMMER CAMPS
I have attached details about a local Summer Camp during the Summer holidays that you may be interested in.
INSET DAY REMINDER
Just to remind you that Friday 23rd July is an INSET day and the school will be closed.
SUMMER HOLIDAY HAMPER RAFFLE DONATIONS
Thank you for the donations that we have received this week. Please can you remember our fundraising when you are doing your shopping over the weekend. We are trying to raise money to develop our ‘Reading Spaces’ in our classrooms. Thank you.
Have a lovely weekend.
Take care
