Dear Parents and Carers,
‘Be still & know that I am God’ Psalm 46:10
We began our week with our whole school Worship thinking about the busyness of our day-to-day lives. We thought about how busy we were both at home and at school. We discussed the famous quote from John Lennon who said ‘ Life is what happens to you while you are busy making other plans.’ We then put on some relaxing music and enjoyed some time of peace and calm. We practiced some breathing exercises for when the pace of life becomes too much. The Bible teaches us that God is with us and can be found at any point in our lives. It is important that there is time for peace and quiet and reflection in the busyness of our world today.
COMMUNITY CIRCLES
Our Community Circles this month asked the question ‘During a busy school day, what would I need to help me be still and reflect?’
Some of the suggestions from the children were:
Quietly sitting under a tree in the forest.
Sitting on the tyres in the meadow.
Being in our new school library either reading a book or having a story read to them.
Breathing exercises.
A place to pray.
Listening to chimes.
We are going to look and see how we can make this happen for our children, to help them to have some ‘stillness and peace’ whilst at school.
ICE POP SALES
We have raised £118.50 so far! This is amazing. Thank you to Ms Taylor for organising this.
We are going to put this money towards developing our outdoor learning areas for KS1.
There will be another ICE POP SALE after school next Friday 14th July 2023.
BOOK SHARE
We will be holding our ‘Book Share’ in the hall after school on Tuesday 11th July. Please have a look at home to see if you have any books that you would like to bring to school to share. Miss Hook has organised lots of lovely books for you to come and choose from too!
PARENT & TEACHER MEETINGS
Please make sure that you book your appointment to see your child’s classteacher in the week of the 17th July.
YEAR 6 PRODUCTION – ‘I’M AN 11 YEAR OLD… GET ME OUT OF HERE!’
We are looking forward to seeing our very own Yapton version of the infamous TV show!
Year 6 parents please remember to book your tickets.
There are two tickets per child for each performance.
Have a fabulous weekend.
Take care.
