WEEKLY NEWS TO FAMILIES 30.4.21

Dear Parents and Carers,
We have had another great week here in school.

ENGLAND RUNS THE DAILY MILE
WOW ! Collectively as a school we achieved a 300 MILE run today. As the crow flies, this would mean that we ran to NEWCASTLE !! This is an amazing achievement. well done to everyone who took part. We certainly have some talented runners in our school. Mr Hughes is feeling very confident for our next years team to enter the Chichester Corporate Challenge Road Race !

PERSUASIVE WRITING YEAR 5
Today was the day that the Site Manager from Dandara Homes (the site next door to school) came to visit our children in Year 5. Over the last week they have been honing their skills of persuasion by writing letters to request more mud for our mud kitchen. The children chose the four most persuasive letters to present to Mr Betteridge. The letters read by Betsy, Rocco, Toby and  Michael did just the job and we have more mud due to arrive next week. Well done to all of the Y5 children for their outstanding letters.

PARKING
I have been asked by some frustrated parents to put out another reminder about parking when dropping off or collecting children from our school.
PLEASE DO NOT PARK ON THE ZIG-ZAG LINES OR ON THE PAVEMENTS.
Thank you.

SCHOOL IMPROVEMENT PRIORITIES FOR THIS YEAR: SPRING 2021 – SPRING 2022
I have attached an overview of the priorities that we are working on as part of our school improvement journey. Every school plans how it is going to progress and develop and I thought it would be helpful for you to see what we have planned to work on. I hope that you find this useful.

BANK HOLIDAY WEEKEND
Just a reminder that Monday 3rd May 2021 is a Bank Holiday. We return to school on Tuesday 4th May 2021.

Have a lovely weekend.
