Dear Parents and Carers,
Here are some details regarding the upcoming Year 6 Production, Leavers’ Service and a game of rounders along with some pizza before the Summer Disco.
Year 6 Production
Thank you to those of you who have already emailed through a Year R photograph of your child. Can I please remind you if you still need to send one in, this needs to be done by Friday 5th July. Photographs can either be emailed to office2@yaptonschool.org. A hard copy can be brought in and scanned, if this is easier.
There are going to be two performances of ‘The School-O-Vision School Contest’ at 2pm and 6pm on Thursday 11th July. Each performance will last for about an hour.
The children will of course be in school for the afternoon performance and will go home at the end of the school day. The children will be able to wear their costumes home and then come back into school wearing them at 5:30pm ready for the 6pm performance. As they arrive, they children will be signed in and then at the end of the evening they will also need to be signed out from their classrooms.
Each family will be entitled to 2 seats per performance. To avoid potential disruptions to the children performing, as well as the watching audience, please make alternative child care arrangements for younger siblings, including babies and toddlers. If childcare arrangements prove impossible, you may come to watch the Dress Rehearsal of the production in the afternoon of Tuesday 9th July, starting at 1:30pm. If you would like to use this option, please let the school know through the office2@yaptonschool.org email address by Friday 5th July. A ParentMail form to reserve your seats for the two performances on Thursday 11th July will be available from later this afternoon.
Year 6 Leavers’ Service
The Year 6 Leavers’ Service will be held in St. Mary’s Church, Yapton at 9:30am on Tuesday 23rd July. This will last for about 30-45 minutes. The children will be able to reflect on their time at primary school as well as looking forward to the next steps at secondary school. Parents, carers and other family member (not siblings still at school) are very warmly invited to join us in this special celebration.
T-Shirt Signing
A last day tradition is the signing of t-shirts. On the 23rd July, please could your child bring in an additional clean white t-shirt, shirt or blouse so that it can be signed by their peers. It would also be helpful if the children came into school with a ‘Sharpie’ pen as these are the best for writing on material.
Year 6 Rounders and Pizzas before the Summer Disco
Before the Summer Disco on Tuesday 23rd July, the Year 6 children are invited to stay at school at the end of the school day to enjoying playing some rounders with the school staff and then enjoying some pizza before getting ready for the disco. On the last day of term, the children will need to come to school in their full school uniform with their hoodies and bring with them their P.E. kits and disco clothes for later on in the day.
Disco tickets will be able to be booked through ParentMail in the near future. Please can you inform us of any food allergies through the office2@yaptonschool.org email address by Friday 12th July.
