Yapton School is a Church of England VC (Voluntary Controlled)  school. This means that there are important links between the school and the Church. The Christian Foundation of the school is important. We place a special value on our collective worship, Religious Education and developing the Christian ethos of the school.

Recognising our Church Foundation, the school preserves and develops its religious character in accordance with the Church at both parish and diocesan levels. The school aims to serve its community by providing an education of the highest quality within the context of Christian beliefs and practice. The school promotes Christian values through the experiences it offers to all pupils.

The Governing Body of the school includes two Foundation governors, one of whom is Reverend Richard Hayes.

Hugo Van Driel is the Pastor at Yapton Free Church and is also a regular visitor to the school. The children really enjoy learning new songs and hearing Bible stories. Hugo’s church support a community in Nepal and he gives us regular updates of Pastor Bharat’s work in this remote part of the world.
