Weekly News For Families 22.11.2024

Dear Parents and Carers,

We’ve seen all sorts of weather this week! The snow didn’t last for long yesterday, but even though today was just as cold as yesterday Bodiam Class have enjoyed a brilliant Forest School day with Mr Floyd.

In Monday’s whole school collective worship, the children continued to explore the theme of Justice though the story of David and Goliath(which can be found in 1 Samuel 17

in the Old Testament of the Bible). By the end of their time together, the children were able to reflect on the idea of everybody being different, but still having the capability of friendship, sharing and respect.

Dates for December

We thought it would be useful to send out the updated list of diary dates for December. There have been a few additions since the original autumn term dates list was sent out back in September. You will see there are lots of exciting things happening over the next few weeks.

Christmas Hamper Raffle

Once again this year, we will be organising a raffle for some Christmas Hampers. Tickets will be sold to raise money to but some new books for our class reading corners. Before any tickets are sold, the hampers needs to be filled. So Friday 6th December will be a non-uniform day in return for a donation for the hampers.

Girls’ Football Award

Well done to Indi, Lainee-Rae, Alexus, Lilyana, Skye, Maisie, Mai, Brooke, Olivia and Poppy who fantastically represented the school on a very chilly Tuesday afternoon at a Lioness Legacy Football Festival at The Regis School in Bognor. In recognition of the school’s determination to provide opportunities for girls to play football, we have named as an Barclays Girl’s Football School Partnership Equal Access School 2024 by England Football. A special mention should be given to Mr Coyle who runs the Girls’ Football Club.

Christmas Holiday Camp

JC Sports will be running a Christmas Holiday Camp here at school on the 23rd and 30th December and the 2nd and 3rd January. Attached is a flyer which provides more details including early bird discounts as well as how to book HAF spaces.

Dressing For The Weather

Now that there has been a distinct change in the temperature outside, please can you make sure your child comes to school with a warm coat. A hat, scarf and pair of gloves would also be very useful. Suitable footwear for the journeys to and from school may also be beneficial – soggy feet aren’t very nice to have!

Enjoy the weekend.

Take care
