Weekly News For Families 05.09.2025

Dear Parents and Carers,

Welcome to the Autumn Term 2025!

What a fantastic start to the new academic term we have had over these past couple of days. A special ‘Well Done” needs to be given to our new EYFS intake who have started their primary school journey so brilliantly!

Throughout the school, there has been a calm and purposeful atmosphere as the all the children (and staff) have been getting to getting to know each other in their new classes. Whilst the EYFS children have been busy settling in and making new friends, the other children have been busy working together to create their Phase Learning Charters. Everyone in Key Stage 1, Lower Key Stage 2 and Upper Key Stage 2 have a clear understanding of the expectations of how they should conduct themselves.

New Team Members

We welcome two new members to the staff team. Miss Katie Stanford will be teaching in Camber Class and Mrs Kym Lewis is our new School Business Manager.

Prayer for September

Here at our school, we have a school prayer for each month. This is to allow the prayer to reflect any significant times of year. Attached is our September Prayer for you to share at home if you wish to.

P.E. Timetable

Also attached is the timetable for P.E. lessons each week. The children need to wear their full P.E. kit into school on the days they will have P.E. lessons.

School Shoes

Whilst thinking about P.E. kits and uniforms, it has been lovely to see lots of the children wearing plain black trainers as part of their full school uniform. These will be also be worn for P.E. lessons. The new guidelines about footwear has been attached for your information. We appreciate some children have elected to wear traditional school shoes, which is absolutely fine! Please ensure the guidelines regarding footwear for P.E. lessons are then followed.

Key Dates for the Autumn Term

There have been quite a few attachments in this newsletter. The final attachment is the of key dates for the Autumn Term. Any further relevant details about some of the events listed will be sent out in due course.

Communication

We pride ourselves on the way we communicate with school families. ParentMail is the key route information will be sent to you. Don’t forget members of the Senior Leadership Team are always on the school gate and classroom teachers are at their classroom doors at the beginning and end of the school day. Please talk to us if you every have any concerns about your child’s learning or well being. Each class has an email address which can also be used for communication between school and home. The format of these email addresses is classname@yaptonschool.org (for example: arundel@yaptonschool.org). There is also the office2@yaptonschool.email address which is accessed by members of the Senior Leadership Team.

We look forward to seeing everyone on Monday as the hooks into learning are launched.

Have a lovely weekend.

Take care

Kim Huggett
