Dear Parents and Carers,
This week, the children enjoyed getting stuck into their new topics on the Hook Days. There was a real buzz of excitement around the school as everyone was thoroughly engaged in a wide range of tasks and challenges involving small world toys, plasticine, clay and even jelly!
Recipes for success
On Tuesday, Reverend Richard led our Whole School Collective Worship. After thinking about the recipes that are needed to make four very different products (a pizza, a shoe, a cake and a book) to a high standard, the children were encouraged to think about what they might need as a recipe to make themselves successful. Richard encouraged the children to consider which fruits of the Holy Spirit: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control which Paul wrote in Galatians 5:22
would be beneficial for them.
As it was the first worship of the month, our new Prayer for June was used. As always, it includes the ideas and themes from prayer written by the children. Moany of these reflected on the beauty of our world at this time of year and the need to look after it Thank you to all the contributions from Bonnie, Letty, Alexus, Iyla E, Frank, Thea H, Evie K, Lexi M, Reegan, Violet, Indi, Tahlia, Alfie O’R and Lily-May. The prayer has been attached so that you can share it at home if you would like to.
Summer Holiday Camps
Attached are the details of The West Sussex West Schools Sports Partnership holiday camps. Details regarding the holiday camp dates run by JC Sports here at our school will be shared as soon as we have them.
Sports Day and Art Exhibition
Don’t forget the date: Friday 20th June. This is the day of our Sports Day to which you are invited to which will take place on the school playground and school field starting at 9:30am. You are then more than welcome to stay and enjoy a family picnic over lunchtime.
During the day, our Art Exhibition will also be open. Every child has produced a piece of artwork based on Wisdom – one of our school values. These have been sent away to be professionally framed ready to be displayed in the Art Exhibition which will be set up in the school hall. You will have the opportunity to buy your child’s artwork. The money raised through the sales of the artwork will be used to enhance the provision of our Art curriculum. The exhibition will close at the end of lunchtime but will re-open at the end of the school day.
