Weekly News for Families – 13.12.24

Dear Parents and Carers,

What an exciting and action-packed penultimate week of term it has been!

The weather outside may have been grey and dreary, but the children and staff at Yapton C of E Primary School have been full of sparkle and shine! Many of our KS2 children have been out representing our school in the wider community this week, whilst our younger children have entertained the masses in school, with their fabulous festive showcases!

CYE

Our week started on a high, with a visit from the CYE- Christian Youth Enterprise, who performed the story of the Nativity, with a twist! A tale of time travellers, that encouraged the children to reflect on why Jesus is also known as Emmanuel, meaning God is with us.

Choir on Tour

On Tuesday, our KS2 choir performed for the Yapton WI in the village hall. They sang a selection of festive favourites, which brought a welcome injection of Christmas spirit to all around. Well done to everyone who performed.

Climbing Festival

On Thursday, six of our Year 5 & 6 children represented our school at a climbing festival, held at the Arena in Bognor Regis. Our children experienced climbing during their residential trip at the start of this term and were eager to pursue this sport further. Well done to Reegan, Oliver, Jake, Maisie, Jamie and Rueben.

Christmas Performances

We certainly ended the week on a high, with a fantastic festive finish provided by both the children in KS1 and EYFS. The children performed beautifully and filled the hall with Christmas cheer. Thank you to all the staff, who worked so hard to put these performances together and most of all thank you to the children- what superstars you all are!

Looking Ahead

Tuesday – Christmas Carol Services at St Mary’s Church, Thursday – Christmas Discos and Friday- Christmas Jumper day & Reindeer Run

Have a lovely weekend
