WEEKLY NEWS FOR FAMILIES 19.9.2025

Dear Parents and Carers,

the second week of term has flown by!

We began the week by talking about the value of FRIENDSHIP. We shared what this means to us and how we can show friendship to those around us. The children shared that we have a responsibility to be a good friend to people and that would involve treating people with respect. They also shared that being polite and sharing a smile were important too. We watched a video of a song teaching us about being a ‘good friend’. The younger children enjoyed the song and the older children were interested in the ideas being shared within the song. We decided on one way that we would be a good friend this week. It has been great seeing this in action. We talked about the disciples of Jesus and how they were his friends. Jesus said to his disciples ‘Love one another as I have loved you ‘. This can be found in the Gospel of St John.

CHRISTMAS CARDS

We have briefly explored Christmas this week ! This is one of our fundraising activities for our school. The children will bring home their designs tomorrow. The instructions for ordering the cards are on the sheet of paper that contains their design. All designs have to be returned to school to the class teacher by the 29TH SEPTEMBER 2025. They are then sent away to be produced. The cards will be back in school in time for sending at Christmas. Please help support us in raising funds for our school. Thank You.

COVID-19

We have had a few cases of COVID -19 reported from some of our families. I would like to thank them for using the tests and respecting our school family by remaining at home until they had a negative test. We do have both children and parents who are vulnerable should they become ill with COVID 19 and we wish to protect them as much as we can. The NHS link will give further guidance – https://www.nhs.uk/conditions/covid-19/

Have a lovely weekend.

Take care
