    Carol Services

Thank you to everyone who joined us at our two packed Christmas Carol Collective Worships in St. Mary’s Church on Tuesday. It was lovely to explore and share the true meaning of the Christmas Story.

Key Stage 2 Young Voices Choir ‘Christmas Tour’

Well done to our Key Stage 2 Young Voices Choir who have been very busy over the past couple of weeks. They have been singing and spreading Christmas joy with the Yapton Women’s Institute, three other local schools and the Arun Choral Society at Arundel Cathedral, at Warmere Court, as well as in their Showcase Concert earlier this week. It is amazing to see how much fun the children had at these events. There are just a few more rehearsals at the beginning of the Spring Term before the Young Voices Concert at the O2 Arena in January.

    Spring Term Hooks

The teachers have already been planning and preparing some brilliant learning opportunities for the Spring Term. Attached are the ‘Hooks’ into the new topics for each of the phases.

    Christmas Reading Challenge

Mrs Cummings and her librarians have been busy creating a Christmas Reading Challenge for everyone to take part in. Details of the different challenges are attached. Please send in photos of your children completing the challenges to the office2@yaptonschool.org email address. There will be prizes and certificates for those who take part.

    Spring Term Inter-House Geography Challenge

The beginning of the Spring Term heralds the launch of the annual Inter-House Geography Challenge. Every year group will be set a different challenge. For those of you who are keen to get a head start, the details of the challenges are attached with this newsletter.

    Christmas Fundraising

A massive THANK YOU to everyone who has contributed in some way to our Christmas Fundraising for the school – either through the Christmas cards and gifts the children designed, or the Christmas Hampers Raffle. Over £1,000 has been raised. This money is going to be spent on enhancing the collection of books in each of the classes’ reading areas the children will be able to enjoy.

Thank you, also, for all the gifts the staff have received. We all appreciate your kindness.

All the staff at Yapton C. of E. Primary School wish everyone in our school family a very Happy Christmas. We look forward to seeing you at the beginning of the Spring Term on Monday 6th January 2025!

    Take care
