Dear Parents and Carers,
This week has seemed to have flown by and has ended with Portchester having a fabulous sunny Forest School day with Mr Floyd.
All the children and staff who are in St. Andrew’s House have enjoyed wearing blue today. A big thank you to Mia and Reece (our St. Andrew’s House Captains) for leading today’s Collective Worship where they shared information about St. Andrew and some of the Scottish traditions at this time of year.
Chestnut Tree House
The week began with a special visitor in our Collective Worship. Alice, from Chestnut Tree House, shared the wonderful work this charitable organisation for children who are very unwell and their families. You can learn about the support and help they offer in the attachment. It was great to see that their aim is to allow children in their care to live in all its fullness
which I am sure you know by now is our deeply rooted Christian vision for the school. Alice brought along with her two big boxes of reindeer antlers in readiness for our Reindeer Run, which will be in aid of Chestnut Tree House, taking place on Friday 20th December.
Thank you for the Royal British Legion
A big message of thanks was received by the school for raising an amazing £398.07 during this year’s Poppy Appeal. Thank you to everyone who made a donation to such a worthy cause.
Girls’ Football Success
Well done to our Year 3 and 4 girls’ football team who took part in a football festival earlier this week. They represented the school brilliantly and returned undefeated. In fact, they won all their matches, scoring 15 goals and only conceding 1! Congratulations to Isla, Darcey, Isabelle, Aria, Isla, Scarlett, Peyton, Harleigh and Phoebe. It looks like we may have some future Lionesses here at Yapton School!
Christmas Disco Tickets
Tickets for the Christmas Discos are now available to buy on ParentMail. These will take place in the school hall on Thursday 19tth December. The EYFS and Key Stage 1 disco will be between 3:30pm and 4:30pm and the Key Stage 2 disco will be between 5:00pm and 6:00pm.
Term Dates
There have been a few enquiries about the term dates for the rest of the year. Attached are the dates for this academic year.
Christmas Hamper Donations
Don’t forget next Friday (6th December) is when the children need to bring in their donations for the Christmas Hampers Raffle. In return for a donation the children can enjoy a non-uniform day. The hampers are going to be put together on the morning of Tuesday 10th December. If you are able to stay after the drop off, your help will be very much appreciated!
Have a lovely weekend.
Happy St. Andrew’s Day tomorrow!
Take care
Kim Huggett
