Dear Parents and Carers,
how can it be the month of December already? There has been lots of excited chatter about ‘naughty elves’ and Christmas decorations and family traditions already this week! Our Christmas post-box is in our school hall ready for deliveries. Please make sure that you put the child’s name and their class on each envelope that you send so that we can make sure that they are delivered to the right children. Thank you.
We felt very proud to be invited to sing at the Village Hall this week to celebrate the ‘switching on’ of the Christmas lights. Our Young Voices choir led the singing with everyone else joining in to sing the traditional Christmas carols. Councillor Amanda Worne has since told me that members of the public were coming out of the Co-Op shop to listen to the beautiful singing. How amazing!
THE FEAST OF SAINT ANDREW
We started our week by learning about the life of St Andrew, the Patron Saint of Scotland. His feast day falls on the 30th November. We listened to ‘Flower of Scotland’ being played by bagpipes as we came in to the hall. Skye and Kaitlyn planned the Worship as they are the house captains for St Andrews house. Their presentation was carefully planned and prepared. We learnt the Andrew was a fisherman and that he was one of the first disciples of Jesus. We must say a huge thank you to Maisie S who stepped in to help present the Worship with Skye. Well done to Skye, Kaitlyn & Maisie for their hard work.
CLASS WORSHIP
In our Class Worship on Tuesday, we reflected on the value of Hope whilst learning about the first Sunday of Advent. We watched a short film to help us understand the meaning of the first Sunday in Advent.
