WEEKLY NEWS FOR FAMILIES 21.06.24

Dear Parents and Carers

what a fantastic end to the week! Our Sports Day this morning was FABULOUS! It was so powerful to see our whole school family together to take part in our Sports Day and to enjoy the Family Picnic afterwards. The children demonstrated a real team effort and took pride both in their own achievements and those of others. It was amazing to see another example of our school vision: ‘I have come in order that you might have life – life in all it’s fullness (John 10:10). Sports Day is an opportunity to share and develop our talents. Thank you to all of the families who came to support this event. We hope that you enjoyed it as much as we did!

BOUNCING BACK!

Following our most recent Community Circles where we discussed ‘resilience’ and how to ‘bounce back’ when things are tough, we took the opportunity to use this as a focus of our first Worship of the week. We took a trip back in time and re-discovered the nursery rhyme of ‘Incy Wincy Spider’. We looked at how the spider wanted to get to the top of the drainpipe and was deterred by the water rushing down the pipe towards them. We followed the journey of the spider as the sun began to shine and the spider re-attempted their journey up the drain-pipe and were successful! We learnt a rhyme to the tune of ‘Incy Wincy Spider’ that we can use if we ever need encouragement when faced with a challenge.

When you face a challenge do the best you can.

We all feel down when things don’t go to plan.

Look on the bright side and have another try.

Be like Incy Wincy and keep on aiming high!

We looked at another of St Paul’s letters to the people of Phillippi and reflected on the message that Paul shared with them. He wrote, ‘I can do everything through him who gives me strength.’ (Philippians 4:13) We can find our strength in prayer and the teachings of the Bible.

SCHOOL PHOTOS – FRIDAY 28th JUNE 2024

Please remember that there will be NO P.E on this day – Friday 28th June 2024. The children will need to be smartly dressed in their school uniform. Thank you.

Thank you for all of your kind messages and congratulations on the publication of our latest Ofsted Report.

We are looking forward to welcoming Ms Susan Costa to our school on Monday to carry out our SIAMS Church School Inspection.

Have a lovely weekend.

Take care
