Dear Parents and Carers,
Thank you to everyone who came along to our Country Dancing Festival this afternoon. We hope you all enjoyed it! It lovely to see every class working as a team.
TEAMWORK
This theme of ‘Teamwork’ was explored in our Whole School Collective Worship at the beginning of the week. The children thought about how Jesus’ disciples were a group of men who came together to work as a team. The children then considered how they can contribute to a team, or group of people, they are with. This included their classes and how everyone in the class would be needed to play their part in their country dance.
PENTECOST
A group of six Year 6 children have been taking part in a pilot project organised by the Diocese of Chichester called Faith In Action. Over the past few weeks, they have been exploring aspects of the Christian Faith linked to Love and Service. Yesterday Angelina, James, Lainee-Rae, Matthew, Oliver H and Sneha led our worship on the theme of Pentecost – the church’s birthday. As well as retelling the story (which can be found in the book of Acts in the Bible), they shared what they had found out about how Pentecost is celebrated in different countries. Everyone had a chance to test themselves to see if they had been listening carefully by taking part in a short True or False quiz at the end. Well done to these six children – not just for preparing and leading the worship, but also thinking and reflecting deeply in the other sessions.
THOUGHTFULL IDEAS
Please find attached a flyer which contains some useful information from Thought-Full – the West Sussex County Council Mental Health Support Team. The are some links to some helpful organisations which support mental health and well-being, along with a couple of suggested half term challenges.
SUMMER TERM 2 HOOKS
Attached are details of the hooks into the learning the children will enjoy on the first day back after the half term break. Don’t forget that is Tuesday 3rd June, as Monday 2nd is an INSET Day, when the school will be closed to children whilst the teachers are working hard!
We hope everyone in our school family enjoys a restful and happy half term break so they are ready to enjoy the second half of the summer term which is always a busy but exciting time of year!
Take care
